(Check back here often for tourney
updates as they happen.)
Update 03/16/2017: Patrick is setting match times and will be done soon. That means that any player additions will have to be replacements for people who get injured or otherwise cannot get to the tournament before play starts. We have about 30 first-time NMRA players!!! That's amazing! To get your tournament questions answered, come to check-in night on Tuesday at the Maverick, or you can also call me at the number below. Start times will be available right before check-in night. See you next week. Call Joe Williams if you need airport rides.
Update 03/08/2017: The deadline has passed but we take several days to finish up getting partners for everyone and following up on people who are listed but haven't yet signed up. Call Cindy directly at 303.888.4461 if you missed the deadline but intend to play. Until we schedule matches, we will TRY to get you in if we can.
Breaking News Update!! Need a ride from the airport Monday through early Wednesday of tournament week??? Joe Williams is our transportation concierge and he is coming in early to help you out! He will charge less than a taxi or ride service. Call him to arrange your ride NOW. 402.309.4260
Update 02/20/2017: Participation is good and I am a little worried that we will have TOO many players--but I will worry about that when it happens, after the March 8 deadline. The hotel deadline has passed, but please call the hotel to see if you can still get the group rate. There were a few rooms left and they will go fast. Barbara Petty is our contact at the La Quinta Arlington South.
Important, never-before-done-at-NMRA update: Leo Vasquez has confirmed that there will be DANCING available after the banquet program on Thursday night. I know we have some ladies who love to dance, but I hope a few men will join us as well. We won't go too long, as matches will start early Friday morning.
More special services for our players and guests: A massage therapist (Mary) will be around all weekend so reserve your spot on her table. Suggested tip is $1 per minute. New-but-similar service: Kinesio taper/Chiropractor Dr. Jeremy Brown will be available for an afternoon or two to tape everyone's sore spots--for the cost of the tape. And we couldn't do without Ottis Campbell, who will be our racquet stringer.
Last notes: The catering for lunches and the banquet will be amazing. The warm-up jacket/pants are our special gift to you. Sign up today and ask us to find you a doubles partner or roommate.
