JUNIOR PROVINCIALS TRAINING CAMP
A Training Camp will be run in lieu of/addition to competition for those Juniors whose divisions are combined or canceled due to participation numbers. More details will be released closer to the event as they are arranged.
JUNIOR PROVINCIALS TEAM SELECTION CRITERIA
1. All players who win the 14+, 16+, and 18+ age divisions at Provincials will be placed on the Junior Provincial Team and are eligible to receive funding. A training camp with a Board-approved format will be held in conjunction with Provincials. All players wishing to make the Junior Provincial Team must attend (exceptions will be reviewed on a case by case basis).
2. The Training Camp Coach, in consideration with attending players’ coaches, will recommend to the Board additional athletes who meet the eligibility requirements for the Junior Provincial Team based on their training camp results, training schedule, results at provincials, and their ability to assist the Junior Alberta Team at the Junior National Championships. The Board will select, upon the availability of funding, a team comprised of up to eight (8) athletes.
3. Up to four (4) additional athletes from younger age brackets (10/12+) may also be selected for the team as development athletes. The Board, based upon recommendations from the Training Camp Coach, will select these athletes based on skill level, participation in provincial tournaments, and their ability to assist the Junior Alberta Team at the Junior National Championships.
Medals will be awarded for all Junior divisions for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Prizes will be awarded for Adult divisions for 1st place. Cash prizes for 1st ($300) and 2nd place ($200) in the Men's & Women's Open Divisions.
$60 for first division, $10 for second division (and 3rd if playing Mixed Doubles). A $10 opt-out fee for those that do not want to referee will be applied per division upon checkout, to be redistributed to those that volunteer to referee additional matches. Please note that Open and A division players may not opt out of reffing.
$10 of your entry fee pays for your ARA membership, which is valid for 1 year from purchase. If you already have a paid membership for this year, please use your coupon code at checkout to subtract this fee from your registration.
If you require assistance registering for the event, please contact the ARA at email@example.com or call (403) 744-5229.
