(Check back here often for tourney
updates as they happen.)
Update 07/17/2018: The entry deadline has passed and match times will soon be scheduled by Patrick Gibson. Jackets and banquet meals have been ordered. Expect to play anytime during Wednesday through Saturday. Some people have asked for time restrictions and we will do our best. Call Cindy at 303.888.4461 if you have any questions on anything. If injuries happen before play starts, we will look for substitutes. Mark your calendars for the Friday banquet, which starts at 6 pm for drinks, 7 pm for food, program and fundraiser. We have more than 30 NMRA first-timers--welcome to all of you! We hope you can come to the club Tuesday night to practice a little and attend check-in night, where you will get your jacket, drawsheets, Penn balls, etc. We will offer player meetings to explain how we will be running the event. Can't wait to see you there!
Hilton Garden Inn guests: Before you check in, you will see a $15 credit for each night you have reserved. Your room rate will appear to be the higher rate, but the credit will bring the price down, at the NMRA's expense. Dan DeHerrera at the hotel and Cindy at the NMRA can explain how that works.
Update 07/13/2018: All Hilton Garden Inn Guests! On your bills, you will see a higher rate for your room, but you will also see a $15 credit that takes the rate down to the advertised rate. NMRA is picking up the extra money. We appreciate your staying in the host hotel! Also, the deadline is done today and we will be ordering shirts and putting in banquet dinner numbers. If you still want to get in the tournament, please ask if it's possible. I need a few more partners for players--check the Participants list and see if you are interested in playing some doubles. Thanks. Cindy 303.888.4461
Update 06/22/2018: Sad news. We recently had two NMRA players pass away. James Funk of Conifer, CO, was all signed up for this tournament, but he died on the court on June 14 amidst his racquetball friends. Doctors think his heart gave out. Shortly before, Steve Cohen of Orange, CA and Buckeye, AZ, passed away in late May after a long cancer fight. Steve was our NMRA treasurer for many years until 2013. We will remember them at our Denver Friday night banquet. Please feel free to contribute to that effort if you have photos or remembrances.
Update 06/15/2018: More hotel rooms have been added to our block at the Hilton Garden Inn. Call them back if they turned you down before. The NMRA is subsidizing room rates so don't be alarmed at the quoted rate--just make sure you are associated with our group. Dan DeHerrera is our contact there.
Update 05/11/2018: I added a few more hotel rooms to our block for Monday and Tuesday night, July 23 and 24. Note that the NMRA is subsidizing your hotel room, but the $20 per night will not show up until our master bill gets charged about 10 days before the tournament. Contact Cindy if you have questions on that. We hope you will come early and enjoy the great state of Colorado!
Contact Joe Williams at 402.309.4260 if you want to save some time and money getting from the airport to the hotel. Light rail is an option but takes a long time; Joe will coordinate your pickup with other players to save you money.

note about the hotel (the Hilton Garden Inn): Denver in July is very popular and we are lucky to have our hotel for
$119 per night. In fact, the NMRA and
our sponsors are subsidizing each room to bring it down to that rate, and we
are happy to do it to have more people able to attend the tournament and stay
at the host hotel. Please take advantage
of it, as there will be shuttle service from the host hotel only. Book your rooms early, as there are only 20
rooms blocked off for us at the Hilton Garden Inn. The hotel is only one-half mile from the
club, and the Friday night banquet will be at the Hilton Garden Inn

at another nearby club. Most courts are
cement-walled with back glass. Thanks to
Dan Montague and his crew for allowing us to use the facility. Bill Fearing is our contact at the club for
food and questions; Marcia Richards is our Colorado Racquetball Association contact
