LADIES AND GENTLEMAN, IT IS TOURNAMENT TIME!
Welcome to the 2012 West Michigan Open Pro Am Racquetball Championships benefitting the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital.
Prize Money of $3,000 has brought a great draw and we'll have a weekend full of amazing play.
Michigan's own Brad Schopieray leads the draw. In his first year as a full time IRT Pro, Brad has already climbed to #23 and now he is poised to take his first Championship. Standing in his path is Cliff Swain, the greatest Pro to ever play the sport. Cliff is Brad's coach and mentor, but does he have enough to hold the kid off when there's prize money on the line? Brian Simpson returns to the WMO and rides his steady play into the #3 seed. A consistently excellent player in all aspect of the game, Brian may be set for a breakthrough win at the WMO. The #4 seed is GR's own Brandon Cortese. Fatherhood has limited his schedule but this fiery competitor can light up the backhand side with the best of them. Who will take home the title, the glory and the cash? Will it be one of these stars, or another one of our great Pros? We'll find out in a few short days. Come out and watch the fireworks.
If you are playing in the tournament, you can watch the Pros play for free. If you just want to come watch, that's fine, we only ask for a small donation to Helen DeVos Childrens Hospital and a lot of applause.
We have a full weekend with great amateur Singles and Doubles Divisions.
None of this is possible without our sponsors. We would like to give a special thank you to Miller Welding Supply for their outstanding generosity!
