Starting Times:
Please check start times online.
Start times for first round match(s) will be available after 5:00 PM  Thursday 1/11/2018. Call 303-888-4461 if you don't have internet access. Play starts at 8:00 AM on Friday 1/12/2018.
Time Zone: Mountain Standard Time (MST)

Event Director(s):
Cindy Tilbury reserve(s) the right to combine or cancel any division due to insufficient entries. Director may refuse participant's entry for any reason.

Sanctioning:
You must be a current member of the United States Racquetball Asociation (USAR). Online registration will help you purchase that membership online. You do NOT need to be a WSMRA member, but we hope you will join at the tournament.

Age Requirement
For age division competition, participants must meet the proper age requirement as of the first day of the event.


Refunds:
No refunds will be made after January 3, when jackets will be ordered and banquet dinners reserved.

Doubles Partners / Roommates :
If you aren't bringing your own doubles partner, you may request a doubles partner and/or a roommate and we will do our best. Please try the R2 list features of this tournament website so everyone can see your request.


Divisions Offered:
Limit of two divisions, one singles and/or one doubles. Singles play is offered in 5-year age increments, starting at age 35. B/C Singles divisions are offered in 10-year increments—35, 45, and 55. Doubles divisions are 35, 45, 55, 65 and 75.

TUS Airport Taxi / Shuttle / Uber / Lyft:
Shuttle to hotel may be provided by Doubletree. Call them for details. Other shuttles cost about $30. Uber and Lyft are excellent options, too.


Shuttle Between Hotel and Club:
A shuttle van will be provided by the Doubletree, on a schedule, between the host hotel and the club.


Parking at Hot Club and Hotel:
Parking at the club and hotel is free


Fun Doubles and Charity Raffle:
Thursday, January 11, 2018 2:30 pm to 5:15 at the Tucson Racquet Club. This event is a great opportunity to meet new ladies and reconnect with old friends. Raffle will benefit breast cancer research. Donations are requested but not required. Fly in early.


Tournament Check-In/Player Meeting:
Thursday, January 11, 2018 5:15 pm at the Tucson Racquet Club. Appetizers and cash bar. Check in at the Rillito Room. Player meeting first, then check-in.


Practice Courts:
Five practice courts are available Thursday, January 11, 2018, except during the player meeting.


Play Begins/Ends:
Play starts at 8 am Friday, January 12 and will end about 4 pm Sunday, January 14, 2018. Every division plays every day; schedule your travel accordingly. Matches for each division are scheduled back-to-back each day to minimize waiting.


Tournament Format:
Round robins, self-refereed matches. Every point counts. Divisions of 11 or more players will have pool play with playoff matches beginning Saturday afternoon and finishing on Sunday.


Appeals:
WSMRA tournament directors or board will be the Rules Committee to which the players may appeal regarding rule (immediately) or issue that arises during the event (not necessarily immediately). The decision of the Rules Committee is final and binding.


Tournament Ball:
Penn Green is the official ball of the WSMRA.


Tournament Awards:
For large divisions, special trophies will be awarded to First through Fourth place winners. Fewer places will receive trophies in smaller divisions. If age divisions are combined, trophies will be awarded according to placement within each age group.


Eligibility:
USAR-sanctioned; current USAR membership is required to participate. WSMRA membership is not required, but it is hoped that you will join. There is no set membership fee; any donation amount will be appreciated.


Silent Auction for Charity:
Auction item donations are welcome. Auction proceeds benefit the USAR Collegiate Scholarship Fund and the WSMRA, or a local racquetball charity. Auction ends Saturday afternoon. Details will be available in the player packet.


Breakfast/Morning Hospitality:
Full hot breakfast is included in the price of the host hotel room. Fruit and drinks are available at the Tucson Racquet Club.


Lunch:
Available at almost any time at the Tucson Racquet Club café (main floor) or bar (second floor). Tournament dollars will be used. Details will be available in the player packet.


Friday Evening Hospitality:
If matches need to be scheduled through and after dinner on Friday, hospitality will be provided.


Banquet:
Saturday night, January 13, 2018, in the Doubletree ballroom. Cash bar at 6 pm. Dinner and program from 7 pm to 9 pm. Videos, slideshows and awards are customary. Dancing with DJ Mark Mann happens after the program, until about midnight. Casual dress.

See the List of Things To Do in Tucson at www.wsmra.com or ask the racquet club manager, Renee Sitter, for suggestions. Contact Cindy Tilbury if you are interested in visiting Biosphere 2 before or after the tourney. It is amazing.
