The Longhorn Open is a single elimination draw racquetball tournament. This tournament is the largest event in Texas and closes at 350 participants. This event is a fundraiser for the UT Racquetball Team’s trip to Intercollegiate Nationals.

entries. Director may refuse participant's entry for any reason.
Ball: Gearbox black for WRT. Pro Penn HD for all other divisions.
This is a sanctioned TXRA / USAR event, and all USAR rules will apply. All participants must be USAR members. Membership expired or need to become a member? One year memberships to the USAR will be available when you enter online for $50 for adults and $25 for juniors.
Consolation is offered for all participants who lose in the first round for a single elimination draw. Sign up is voluntary, and electronic sign up will be available at the event. Consolation is held at Gregory Gym at 10 AM on Sunday.
For age division competition, participants must meet the proper age requirement as of the first day of the event.
Each division entry is charged a $10 referee fee. This fee will be returned to each participant for each match refereed. If you choose not to referee, you forfeit the $10 fee. Anyone interested in refereeing should sign up at the tournament desk.
No refunds will be given after the entry deadline.

All participants must be available to play Friday at 2 PM in divisions with more than 32
participants. This will likely apply to Men’s WRT, Open, Elite, A, B, and C Singles. We will not
accommodate Saturday start times for anyone in these divisions.
Matches and Format:
Single elimination matches – two games to 15, with a tie-breaker to 11. All participants
must play with approved eye guards.
Limit of Two Events:
Entrants playing in two events must be prepared to play in back-to-back matches. The tournament director has sole discretion on a case-by-case basis to allow a participant to play a third division should that entry help make a division.
Tournament and Division
Entry deadline will be the date listed or 350 registered participants or 480 entries, whichever comes first.
Doubles entries are not guaranteed unless both partners are registered. Any division that reaches 64 entries
will automatically close.
WRT Division Capacity and Rules:
The WRT division will play by all WRT rules. The WRT division is limited to the first 32 entries due to time
constraints. Once capacity is
reached, you can
join the waitlist.
Team up with WRT players for a fun time playing doubles, all while helping raise money to help the
UT Racquetball Team make their trip to Intercollegiate Nationals. Sign Up and Info
Men's Open Limitations:
The top 6 WRT players are precluded from entering the Open division.
Doubles Division Team Registration:
Both participants must be individually registered prior to capacity in order to guarantee that team’s entry. You
can register your partner yourself by selecting the “multi-registration” at checkout.
Women’s Open Singles and Mixed Open Doubles first round losers will drop-down to an Elite
division in the event the original division has 16 participants (singles) or teams (doubles). The Elite
division will be single elimination.
Please park ONLY in the Brazos garage at MLK and Brazos. Specific parking details will be
added to our homepage the week of the tournament. VIEW MAP.
This tournament is held at both the Gregory Gym and the UT Recreation Center. Gregory Gym
and the UT Recreation center are within a 10 minute walk of each other.
A golf cart shuttle service will be available between the two gyms for your convenience.
Players can register at either gym at the registration table located at the entrance. Once
registered, players should check-in at the tournament desk 30 minutes prior to their match.
Participant Gym Entry:
Participants are not allowed in the gyms prior to registering. Registration begins Friday January 18th at 2:30
PM. Once registered, you will receive an event credential. The event credential must be visible to the gym
attendant for each entry.
Divisions with five or less will receive an award for 1st, divisions with less than nine will receive an award for
1st and 2nd, all other divisions receive awards for 1st-3rd. All consolation winners receive awards.
All participants receive a tournament shirt. Breakfast and lunch is served Saturday and
Sunday. Dinner is served Friday and Saturday. We aim to serve meals for a reasonable time:
typically 1 1/2 hours. Refreshments will be served throughout the tourna
Guest Meal Card:
This card entitles a guest to all meals available to registered players. The meal
card can be purchased at checkout of your online registration for $20. Meal
cards will not be available for purchase at the event.
The official host hotel is the AT&T Conference Center. The hotel is on campus with
a short two block walk to Gregory Gym. Avoid driving and parking on campus while
staying in a plush hotel. Detailed information is listed on the "Hotel" tab.
Home Court Stringing will be at both gyms for all your stringing and gripping needs. Stringing costs $20 plus
the cost of string. Reach them at (512) 382-6807, or check out their website.
Will not be provided. You will need to bring your own. Towels will be sold for $5 on site at our Merchandise
Table at both Gregory Gym and the Rec Center.
Party at the Bar:
Join us for the Party at the Bar at the AT&T Conference Center, our host hotel.
The party will be Saturday evening from 10:00 PM - 1:00 AM. Participants over 21 years old will
receive a ticket for one complimentary drink.
Spectators and participant guests are welcome at no cost! All spectators must have a
spectator event credential to gain entry to the gyms. Event credentials can be picked up at the
