WELCOME TO THE IN-SHAPE MODESTO
RACQUETBALL SINGLES CHALLENGE LADDER!
are excited to roll out this NEW racquetball program at most of the
In-Shape Clubs with racquetball courts. The program will be FREE of
charge, although you'll have to be a member of USA Racquetball to
participate. It's easy to sign up for the Challenge Ladder, but if
you're having any problems, please contact your local In-Shape
Racquetball Manager or John Ellis from Pro Racquetball Academy at
We have four divisions to choose from with
the Open, A, B and C Singles. If you're not sure which division you
should be in, then start in the C's and work your way up!
purpose of the Challenge Ladder is to constantly try to move up by
challenging players ranked higher than you, while also defending your
current spot on the ladder when you're challenged. Players can
challenge up to five ranking spots ahead of their ranking. NOTE, only
the #1 ranked player in a division is allowed to "challenge up" into the
bottom five ranked players in the next division.
We will post
the weekly rankings in the racquetball cases across from Court 2.
Eventually when this program has a good amount of participation, we'll
begin to implement our monthly prizes for specific happenings, such as
the most activity, highest jump in the rankings, and a few others.
Challenge Ladder will bring back some elements of racquetball from past
decades as we'd like to see players enjoying the singles game a bit
more, and making court reservations to play matches against specific
opponents. The Challenge Ladder will be a great way to make new friends
within the game that you love to play!
Official matches can be one of two scoring styles.
1) Two out of three games, first two to 15 points, with a tiebreaker to 11 points. All win by 1 point. (Amateur Style)
2) Three out of five games, all to 11 points, win by 2 points each game. (Pro Style)
