WELCOME TO THE 2019
CNRA STATE JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
JANUARY 26th-27th, 2019
IN-SHAPE WEST LANE - STOCKTON
We are thrilled to host this year's CNRA State Junior Champs with our nine courts in Stockton. Match play will begin at 9:00am on Saturday, final matches at roughly 6:00pm. We'll come back on Sunday for about half day of play from 8:30am-2:00pm.... ALL PLAYERS ARE ALLOWED TO PLAY IN THREE DIVISIONS, AS LONG AS THE SECOND AND THIRD DIVISIONS ARE DOUBLES AND MIXED DOUBLES.
All divisions will be Round Robin or Pool Play. NOTE, this is not a shootout style, but rather a combination of shootout and regular tournament. We want the players to have time to recover after their matches, and ref other matches in between their own. All players will get a lot of play, but parents have to be ready for the weekend.
Hospitality will be at a premium again, and we'll have a cool tournament shirt for all participants. Champion and Runner-Up Awards will be presented at the event. CNRA will provide the very nice USA Racquetball Medals for our Finalists.
BIG NEWS... The Girl's and Boy's 14's, 16's, & 18's Singles Divisions award $200 both 1st and 2nd, to be used specifically for travel expenses to the 2019 USA Junior Olympic Championships in Portland, OR on June 19th-23rd, 2019. To qualify for funds, player must be committed to attending the 2019 Junior Olympics. Funds for this are being generously provided by Reaching Your Dream Foundation (RYDF) - https://www.reachingyourdreamfoundation.org/
We hope to have a bunch of players from both Northern California and Southern California, and hopefully even a few from Nevada. We realize it takes a lot of effort on the parents part to get their kids to Stockton, and we promise a fun atmosphere of competition and friendship. Parents, we have 14 pickleball courts for you to have some fun yourselves! And, I'm sure there could be an early morning racquetball session on Sunday, Jan 27th for those that want a workout. If you have any questions, please email Tournament Director John Ellis at email@example.com or call the cell at (209) 969-4497.
Each year the California Nevada Racquetball Association (CNRA) provides funds for Junior from California/Nevada attending the Junior Olympics. Funds provided are determined by the amount in the current Junior fund and the number of players being provided funds. This is determined by the CNRA Board at the April/May meeting. TO QUALIFY for the funds, players MUST play in this event (Junior States). Exceptions may be made by CNRA discretion (Must submit exception request by March 2019. Distance is not an exception.)
