Heat Tabulations

Heat tabulations refer to the page the judges use to calculate final placements within the groups of theheat sheets. The calculations on the heat tabulations page determine which competitors advance to the next round, or drop into the heat bracket with death heat

Heat tabulations are commonly used in sports like surfing, skateboarding, and gymnastics where multiple judges rate the competitors on a scale of 1 to 10.

The heat tabulations formulate the standings based on specific rules in that sport. Sometimes the highest and lowest scores are thrown out and ties are broken in different ways depending on the sport.

Advantages:

Heat tabulations allow judges to put input their score for each attempt and all judge‘s results are combined and scored.

Disadvantages

Heat tabulations can get complicated to break ties without an automated system.
